We typically play flighted stroke play events, consisting of at least 3 flights, with most being 4 flights for a home tournament. We play staggered tees for the different flights: Placing, Skins and CTP’s within each flight. Gross and Net prizes are also awarded in each flight.
In March, our first Major is the “Tournament of Champions”. If you win or tie (lose in a card off) in any of our individual events and meet our eligibility requirements, you will be eligible to play 36 holes in this one-day event.
In April, we play our normal monthly tournament. The 8 low Gross and 8 low Net Players, upon meeting the eligibility requirements, will play in the 2nd Major which is our President’s Cup Match Play event.
In June, we have a Two-Man Best Ball event in which the two teams with the lowest net best ball scores will be entered into a SCGA 2 Man Net Championship Qualifier of their choice. These two teams will represent our club at this SCGA event.
September will have a normal home tournament. This tournament is usually scheduled one week earlier as it doubles as a qualifier for our third Major, The Club Championship. The overall low 16 gross and 16 net players, which meet our eligibility requirements, will play the next Saturday and Sunday for Low Gross, Low Net and Low Gross Senior. These three winners will be entered in the SCGA Tournament of Champions in December to compete against other Club Champions at different courses around Southern California.
Our monthly home tournaments are played on the 3rd Sunday of the month, however Holidays, aerification and other conflicts may arise causing slight adjustments.
